Every name, city and date changes before anything airs. Here is exactly what happens to your story after you hit send.

When you send us a story, it lands in a private inbox that only our two hosts can read. We don't collect your IP address, and we don't ask for your name.
Before anything airs
- We change names, cities, dates and jobs.
- We remove anything that could point back to you, like a rare diagnosis or a very specific workplace.
- If you send a voice note, we distort every voice. Always.
If you want to be told
You can leave an email if you'd like to know when your story airs. It's optional, it's stored separately from your story text in our notes, and we delete it once the episode is out.
Changing your mind
If you change your mind before your story airs, write in again with your pen name and the first line of your story. We'll pull it. No questions.
